A healthy functional drink that packs a punch and makes you feel as though you’ve been whisked away to a tropical island for adventure. Made with freshly squeezed lemons, a dash of cayenne pepper, and a touch of honey, this drink is sure to wake up your taste buds. The heat from the cayenne pepper is balanced out by the sweetness of the honey and the tartness of the lemon, making it a drink that’s both refreshing and energizing.

Ingredients: 

  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup Trisha’s Elderberries elderberry syrup
  • 1/2 cup sugar or honey
  • 6 cups water
  • Ice cubes
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 2-3 slices of fresh ginger
  • Lemon slices for garnish

Directions:

  1. In a pitcher, stir together the lemon juice, elderberry syrup, and sugar or honey until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Add the water, cayenne pepper, and ginger slices and stir well.
  3. Let sit for 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
  4. Fill glasses with ice and pour the lemonade over it.
  5. Garnish with lemon slices.
